(Please be on time we cannot seat more after 5 minutes past opening times simply due to seating space - please do not park inside the private parking spaces near Transit)

Grocery pickup: Who can access it?

Because demand for emergency food relief is so high during the cost-of-living crisis, we need to prioritise families and individuals who need it most, based on a high but fair criteria.

How can I register: What do we ask for?

  • Where you live: City of Casey & Cardinia Shire Council

We never turn anyone away on their first visit, but for ongoing food support we do need to sight a Centrelink Income Statement (for each adult in the household 20+) or, if not applicable, a recent payslip. You can show it on your phone or bring a printout. If you have myGov and Centrelink, you can access it on your phone. We do not keep copies it’s purely to ensure the limited food we have goes to those who need it most.

Once verified, we will provide you with an QR card that is valid for 12 months.
(this card is to help us ensure our Guests do not have to wait in line longer than needed)

Please note there is no onsite parking. Please do not park in the car spaces near Transit — these are private business parking only. The train station behind us has parking, and there is also street parking (2‑hour limit - 4 hours if you have a disability sticker).

If you have a disability, please call Michael on 0422 519 309 when you arrive so we can coordinate closer parking for those who need it (you will require a disability sticker on your vehicle).

We recommend arriving later in the time slots. Please note we DO NOT distribute on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and we hold stock based on average guest attendance and we don’t have the best food at start of services. Everyone has equal quality and quantity every day.

Don’t meet this criteria but still need help?

At Transit, we assess everyone’s situation on a case-by-case basis. Many people who are working, on student visa’s, seeking asylum or homelessness may still qualify but please contact us.

Please contact Lisa directly on 0484 986 466.
