Work and Development Permit Scheme

Transit Soup Kitchen is an approved sponsor for the Work and Development Permit Scheme (WDP) on behalf of Fines Victoria. The WDP scheme is in place to help vulnerable and disadvantaged people with an option to work off their fines by engaging in certain approved activities at Transit.
Who qualifies for the Scheme at Transit?
You may be eligible if you cannot afford to pay your fine and you are experiencing financial hardship. We do require anyone under the WDP to be physically fit, over 18 with a medium level understanding of English, adhere to our core volunteering guidelines and code of conduct.
All applicants are required to provide a current Working with Children Check (free via Service Victoria).
How do I go about applying? Follow these 4 easy steps.
1) Get a electronic copy of your fine(s), a photo on your phone is OK
2) A electronic copy of the WDP consent form which can be DOWNLOADED HERE
3) A copy of your working with children card, a photo on your phone is OK
4) Fill out the form below and attach all 3 of these documents
What happens after?
Once we receive your application, we will review it and submit it to Fines Victoria. You will receive an email from Transit to confirm this. After Fines Victoria approves the application, we will contact you by phone or email to arrange a start date.
When you arrive, please ensure that you check in and check out to record your hours.
